Established in Nov 1999 and subsequently built up its existing facilities funded by the Innovation & Technology Commission (ITC) of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Department aims at establishing a central GMP facility to promote research, development and manufacturing of high quality Chinese medicinal products for the Chinese Medicine industry in Hong Kong.
Our facility has obtained the Manufacturer Licence and the Certificate for Manufacturer (GMP in respect of proprietary Chinese medicines) from the Chinese Medicine Board of Hong Kong since 2003 and 2005 respectively. Powder, granules, pills, tablets and capsules can be produced for test trial, clinical trial and commercial uses.
