Our mission is to provide catalyst and essential infrastructure for the development of biotechnology and Chinese medicine (CM) industries in Hong Kong. Throughout the years, we have received grants from the Innovation & Technology Commission (ITC) to advance our capacity in research and GMP production in these two areas.

HKIB provides extensive services on infrastructure support, product & technology development, contract manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) consultation and training. With our expertise, we actively engage in process development, product commercialization as well as collaborative projects with industrial partners for fund application in bringing new technology and product development in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and CM.

Being affiliated with CUHK and a designated local public research institute of the ITC, HKIB enjoys the benefits of being the focal point of collaboration among academia, government and industry to promote biotechnology and CM in Hong Kong. As a not-for-profit organization, the services are provided on a cost-recovery and pay-per-use basis. We can be your strategic partner in transforming research results into viable commercial products.
